Tim and Pam Darling joined Baptist Mid-Missions in 1977 and served in Venezuela until 2009.  In 2010 the Lord called them to Spain where they served for 11 years in Azuqueca, Madrid until they graduated Iglesia Bautista Azuqueca. In 2021 they have joined the Logroño church planting team.  Their emphasis in both Venezuela and Spain have been church planting and theological education. Their sending church is Needhams Grove Baptist Church.

Here is the Darlings July Prayer Letter:

On the Move

“Where He leads me I (we) will follow”

We said our goodbyes, to the folks of the Azuqueca Baptist Church on May 2nd and by the 8th, we bid “adios” to the pastors of the Madrid area and to our neighbors.  To the last group we gave them a letter explaining why we were moving and gave each one (7) a book about how to have “Peace” which was written by a fellow missionary friend in the Basque Country of Spain.

So, where are we now, you might ask?  We have moved further north in Spain to Logroño, the capital city of the province of La Rioja.  Why Logroño? Because of a three-year-old invitation. The missionary team in Logroño, comprised of the Burdett and the Romaine families who had invited us to join them in a new church plant.  We were counseled to give them an opportunity to start the new ministry and then move to join their work. Additionally, we wanted to leave the church in Azuqueca in good hands with a number of members equipped to help the national pastor Marco Iturralde.  We thank the Lord for those who have learned to play the piano, lead the music and help in the ministry of teaching and preaching God’s Word.

The work in Logroño has three believers attending - one Spaniard, one man from Chile and a retired American lady.  The Romaine’s and Burdett’s have made many contacts through their “English Table” and by means of getting involved with community groups in the city. A point of interest is the Spaniard, (who will be 40 in August) has expressed his desire to know more of God’s Word and is taking Seminary courses.

We look forward to being an encouragement to the Logroño team and as the Lord leads, to help the Spaniard in his desire to know more of God’s Word.

Next year, (June 2022) we will make another “move”. We are planning a 5-month furlough to share with you what the Lord has done and what we are planning for the next few years of missionary service.  We look forward to that visit and to encourage you in the work of the Lord.

Thank you so much for your faithful prayer and financial support. Your investment is not gone with the wind but in the ground by planting the seed of the Gospel, by mentoring others and encouraging pastors and missionaries in their field of service whether they be in Ecuador, Venezuela, the USA or Spain.  What a privilege it is to serve our Lord. Thank you again for giving us that joy.
